Athlos Leadership AcademyBrooklyn Park, MN - 2014 - $612,104 - New Construction, Roofing - Square Footage: 82,300 sq. ft. - Scope of Work: Fabrication and installation of a mechanically attached Carlisle 45 mil TPO roofing over two layers of 2” insulation over wood deck. In addition the project included installing shingles and custom fabricated stainless steel gutters and downspouts.
Grandview Middle SchoolMinnetrista, MN - 2014 - $628,410 - Roofing - Square Footage: 48,000 sq. ft. - Scope of Work: Demolition of the 48,000 square feet down to the existing deck and installing 60 MIL fully adhered Carlisle EPDM roofing system over a fully tapered insulation system on top of concrete deck and metal deck. Removal of the existing roof edge and temporarily sealing the edge with EPDM rubber so that carpentry, drywall, and insulation contractors could build and insulate the new perimeter wall.
Lakeville North High SchoolLakeville, MN - 2014 - $840,000 - Roofing - Scope of Work: Updated roof drains and replaced the roof. This included removal of the existing ballasted roof system and replacing it with a 90 mil, fully adhered EPDM roof that carried a 30-year warranty and sheet metal details.
Lourdes High SchoolRochester, MN - 2012 - $334,000 - Architectural Metals - Square Footage: 21,200 sq. ft. - Scope of Work: Installation of approximately 11,000 square feet of 3 inch insulated Sonoma metal panels manufactured by Firestone. In addition, 9,500 square feet of UC-4 standing seam metal, also manufactured by Firestone, over insulation nail base, and 700 square feet of aluminum composite material were installed.
Mound Westonka High SchoolMinnetrista, MN - 2013 - $1.4 Million - New Construction, Mechanical - Square Footage: 116,200 sq. ft. - Scope of Work: The project included demolishing the existing built-up roof system down to the existing deck. Schwickert’s installed 60 mil fully adhered Carlisle EPDM roofing system over a fully tapered insulation system over concrete deck and metal deck. The job was impressive due to the size, scope, and its short time frame of completion of only three months. The removed material took nearly 150 30 yard dumpsters to dispose of. Some of the roof sections had over 10 inches of roofing material to remove and dispose of.
NDSU - Ceres HallFargo, ND - 2013 - $786,246 - Roofing, Architectural Metals - Square Footage: 19,500 sq. ft. - 2013 Tecta America Project of the Year Award - Scope of Work: Schwickert's was hired for removal of the existing cedar shake roof down to the existing 3/4 inch tongue and groove wood deck and installing ice and water shield over the entire deck followed by a 16 inch wide 24 gauge single lock standing seam metal roof. In addition to the standing seam metal roof, other scope items included replacing all downspouts, installing EPDM wrapped gutters and valleys, attic ventilation upgrades, window replacement, and removing all paint on the soffits and fascia, which was all lead based paint.
NRHEG High SchoolNew Richland, WI - 2013 - $461,500 - Roofing, Architectural Metals - Square Footage: 81,639 sq. ft. - Scope of Work: Schwickert’s was hired as the contractor for a reroof project on the high school for a contract amount of $461,500. The scope of work included replacing existing standing seam roof with new Garland 24 gauge R-Mer standing seam panels in Dark Bronze color. In order to install the roof properly, Schwickert’s had to roll form 150 foot long panels on the ground on site of the project and then use a large crane to lift them up to the roof for install. The project was completed in September in 2013 in just under four months’ time.
UNI DomeCedar Falls, IA - 2010 - $1.1 Million - Roofing - Scope of Work: The UNI-Dome's roof was most recently renovated by Schwickert’s in 2010 after damage due a high wind storm and hail. The original air inflated canvas roof was replaced in 1995 with a stainless steel roof after it partially collapsed during a snow storm. Schwickert’s worked with engineers, the manufacturer and University officials to design and install a hybrid 60 mil Johns Manville PVC roof. The white roof is heat reflective, energy efficient and meets windload requirements. During the removal of the existing standing seam stainless roof and installation of the new roof, the facility remained open and the University experienced no interruption in the UNI-Dome’s schedule of events.
Wapsie Valley High SchoolFairbank, IA - 2013 - $380,000 - New Construction, Mechanical - Square Footage: 58,700 sq. ft. - Scope of Work: Wapsie Valley High School hired Schwickert’s to do the reroof on the school. A full reroof down to the structural gypsum deck which involved tear off of the existing built-up roof. All new EPS insulation was installed and topped with a 60 mil ballasted EPDM roofing system. The existing roof had water and mold damage which was an unforeseen aspect to the job. The original job was to leave existing insulation in place and install new roof over it. The negotiation of a full tear off was drawn out and in result almost doubled the contract value ensued.
