Schwickert's Recognized for Safety Efforts

Schwickert's has recently received two awards in recognition of the company's outstanding efforts to promote safety and reduce accidents and injuries on the job.

The company has received the 2004 Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Gold Level Award from the Association of Builders and Contractors. The STEP award was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. It provides organized criteria to evaluate a company's safety and loss prevention programs and it provides a valid, objective method of measuring safety program improvements. The award is based, in part, on a company's incident reduction program, employee interviews and project inspections.  "Gold STEP winners have a proven commitment to safety and have achieved a high level of excellence," says ABC's national director of safety, Ralph Riley.  "Winners not only have implemented effective safety programs at their firms, they also have outstanding safety records."

Schwickert's has also received the Meritorious Achievement Award from the Minnesota Safety Council. The award was presented by Governor Tim Pawlenty at the 2004 Minnesota Safety and Health Conference held earlier this month in Minneapolis . This is the first time Schwickert's has received this award.
