In September of 1997, Schwickerts
began addressing the development of a clean room facility
located within the Coloplast facility in North Mankato,
Minnesota. The design specifications required strict
adherence to both FDA and ISO regulations. After a cumulative
effort between the facility representatives and Schwickerts
engineers, a final construction plan was completed and
approved by December of 1997.
Plan in hand, Schwickerts immediately began construction
on the HVAC systems. During the testing and implementation
of the environmental regulating systems, the installation
and testing of the highly customized manufacturing and
process equipment overlapped. Once installed, the final
phase of the project was completed.
The air quality and pressure in the
clean room is monitored regularly and is categorized
as a Class 100,000 clean room environment. Results obtained
so far indicate that the clean room not only meets but
also exceeds the environmental requirements.
