1st & 3rd Apartments

Schwickert’s was contracted to complete the roofing on a new apartment building in Austin, MN. The project covered 17,400 square feet across four roof sections. The team installed a vapor barrier, a tapered insulation system for better drainage, and a durable 60-mil adhered EPDM roof.

The new roof exceeded the required R-value for insulation, providing excellent energy efficiency. The roofing and metals crews also added a thermally broken roof hatch, metal coping caps, and counter-flashings.

Despite a wet spring, Schwickert’s worked closely with the general contractor to keep the project on track. The team adapted by switching from a mechanically attached system to a fully adhered system, ensuring a strong and lasting roof for the apartments.
