- Navien Tankless Condensing Water Heaters
Schwickert’s MEP team completed an upgrade to the Blue Earth County’s Justice Center building in just two days.
The old water heater system was shut down using lock-out-tag-out procedures. In order to remove and dispose of this existing 250 gallon PVI water heater, the Schwickert’s team coordinated with the facility manager to use a crane. After careful coordination between Schwickert’s Mechanical team and the Roofing team, the old water heater was removed from the top floor.
To start the installation of the eight Navien NPE-240s2 199,000 BTU Tankless, condensing water heaters, rack systems were installed, along with manifold systems. This allowed for easy access to service valves on each of the new units for future maintenance. The manifolds were connected to the hot and cold water lines. The existing intake and exhaust manifolds were connected to the new intake and exhaust piping. Condensation piping was installed as well as condensate neutralizers for each water heater. Gas lines were connected. The system was then put into service, and Schwickert’s MEP team performed the start-up.
