Project Scope of Work

Blue Earth County Justice Center brought in Schwickert’s for a commercial roofing after strong winds tore up sections of the roof. The storm caused damage to the metal, ripped the membrane in spots, and even broke parts of the lightning rod connection system. Schwickert’s crew acted fast, sealing up the exposed areas, checking for penetrations, and applying temporary patches. To help keep everything secure in the meantime, they placed 400 roof pavers to hold the membrane in place.

Once the site was stabilized, the team got to work rebuilding. They installed wooden structures over the skylights, making it safe to move forward with the project. Multiple sections of the roof were then reroofed with 60 mil EPDM over two layers of 2.6” ISO insulation. This new membrane brings long-term protection back to the building. The 31,800-square-foot project wrapped up in June 2025, showing how quick action and smart planning can turn around unexpected storm damage.
