Project Scope of Work

Schwickert’s took on a large roofing project at the Rochester Rec Center, covering 77,000 square feet across both the main rink and the pool areas. The job included two distinct systems for each section of the facility.

For the pool roofs, the team repaired the existing vapor barrier before installing new insulation. Carlisle 60 mil TPO membrane was installed using a cold process, helping to maintain indoor conditions while providing lasting protection.

For the roof sections over ice rinks, Schwickert’s installed a multi-layer Garland BUR system. This included two plies, topped with a modified field membrane, modified flashing membrane, and finished with a flood coat and gravel surfacing—all installed with hot asphalt.

With the variety of materials and methods involved, this project showed Schwickert’s ability to deliver a customized solution while coordinating a large, multi-section job from start to finish.
