Every January, Schwickert’s is buzzing with excitement as apprentices from all four locations come together for our Apprenticeship program in Roofing and Sheet Metal.

Structured across three levels, our program covers a variety of topics essential to the roofing and sheet metal industry. From foundational basics to advanced subjects like blueprint reading, foreman training, OSHA 10 certification, and trade math, our apprentices undergo a journey of continuous learning and development.

What distinguishes our program is the team of instructors who lead the classes. Representatives from industry leaders like Elevate and Carlisle share their expertise, providing invaluable insights into the latest trends and best practices. Additionally, our Safety Director, Paul, emphasizes the importance of creating and maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring our apprentices prioritize safety at every step.

Our experienced superintendents, such as Ray, Bernie, Kyle, Nate (and a few others) play an essential role in mentoring and training our apprentices. Drawing from years of hands-on experience, they offer practical insights and real-world examples that enrich the learning experience.

Throughout the three-week program, apprentices not only gain valuable skills and knowledge but also form lasting connections with their peers and mentors. The shared passion for roofing and sheet metal work fosters a sense of solidarity, creating an environment leading to both personal and professional growth.

For us at Schwickert’s, the Apprenticeship program is a highlight of the year. It’s an opportunity to invest in the future of our industry by empowering the next generation of professionals. Witnessing the transformation of eager learners into skilled craftsmen reaffirms our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

As we move forward, we remain dedicated to providing top-tier education and hands-on training through our Apprenticeship program. We take pride in shaping the future of roofing and sheet metal professionals and look forward to the impact our apprentices will make in the industry.
